In 2005 Cork was European Capital of Culture. And a well deserved one, if I may add, as the city has much to offer.

So for 2006 I thought I reveal the dark side for a change. The side streets tourists usually wouldn’t see.

at the dogs

Last Saturday we went to watch the Greyhound dog races in Curraheen Park.

Let me tell you one thing, they are fast. I mean really fast.

Overall a great social event. The minimum bet is one Euro and there are various possible combinations to bet on. Unfortunately non of us where very lucky, guess I should better stick with Poker.

Talking about Poker, is it just me or is Poker getting a bit girly? When I first joined the lads on for the Friday games it was an almost male dominated evening. But now there are almost as many lass’s as lads under the regular players. I am not saying that this is a bad thing, quite the opposite actually, but look what I found at Dunnes Stores the other day:
