airport london

My once so beloved London becomes more and more a gigantic airport to me. Living in Cork means, that almost any route will bring you through London. Simply because the connections to the major English airports are generally good and one will always get from there to the rest of Europe. So it comes that I bounce at least once a month through London, but when was the last time I actually visited London? I think it is now over 2 years ago, and that is a shame. I miss having my all day breakfast, shopping down Kingsstreet and ending the day with a jug of Long Island Icetea on top of the Oxygen Bar. We always tell our self, next time we bounce through, we plan to stay an extra day, but the truth is, we just never actually do!

So it comes, that I sit here right now, waiting for an connection, and write these lines.

When I was a teenager, I dreamed of a life jetting around between all these metropolises. A classic example of be careful what you wish for your self, it might come true. I still love to see new cities and cultures, but it is the airports I am fed up with.
